10-DAY FULLY
ACCOMMODATED
HONEYMOON
SAFARI IN AFRICA
|

|
DAY-TO-DAY
ITINERARY (Option 1 - Namib Desert)
| DAY
1: |
Meet your host at Namibia's International airport. Transfer to a
comfortable bed and breakfast
on the outskirts of Windhoek. Relax from the long flight and acclimatize to
Namibia. |
| DAY 2: |
Travel along the Khomas Hochland (Namibia's central
highlands) towards the edge of the Escarpment. A short stop to stretch your legs
and enjoy a view that will remain with you for the
rest of your days. Descend into
the desert towards a secluded accommodation facility. Here you will stay for two
nights, dropping off to sleep and waking again next morning with a view of
a valley stretching out before you - viewed from your pillows!
Experience the unpolluted air and clear skies by day, and the glittering canopy of the true Southern
Skies by night! |
| DAY 3: |
Besides a guided
Game viewing drive through this tranquil valley, you are at own leisure to
enjoy nature walks or simply, fully relax from the rush and tension of the
last few days - usually associated with the arrangements of any wedding. |
| DAY 4: |
After a hearty yet
leisurely breakfast, continue towards a Moroccan-styled desert camp.
Although you know you will miss the secluded privacy and bird's eye
view of the last two days, be assured that your next venue will elevate
you to even loftier heights - about 386 metres higher! This is the average
height of the dunes from ground level, not sea level. You spend the
afternoon at own leisure, on Nature walks or swimming in a pool which
is strategically placed
with a commanding view over this pristine wilderness. Freshen up for dinner,
served alfresco on the
terrace with paraffin/kerosene lamps lit after sunset. Dine, while viewing
desert wildlife that come to quench their thirst at a flood-lit waterhole. |
| DAY 5: |
Be
woken before dawn to drive along
the Tsauchab River Valley towards some of the highest sand dunes on earth at the world famous Sossusvlei. On
arrival, you have the opportunity to climb one or more of these dunes for a
breathtaking view of the dune fields. When ready, descend to the base of the dune for a
welcome picnic brunch under age-old Camelthorn trees (Acacia erioloba).
Return to the lodge for a short - probably necessary - siesta,
during the hottest
part of the day. By late afternoon, explore the geologically historic Sesriem
Gorge. |
| DAY 6: |
This morning you
have a personal option (not included in the safari price, but
privately offered at a fixed price of N$3050 per person): Again, be woken before dawn for the experience of a lifetime. In
the cool, pre-dawn air, ascend in a
hot-air balloon and silently drift high above the immensity of the Namib desert.
From this exclusive
vantage point, the rising sun paints an endless vista of shadow and light over
an ocean of sand dunes
and mountains. After about an hour of silently riding the air, descend and
celebrate this unique event
with a champagne breakfast in the middle of the desert. Flight certificates will
be presented before the 4 X 4 drive back to the lodge. Continue further into the
central Namib, where you will be treated with a scenic drive on which you
can etch this pristine wilderness into your memory - forever! |
| DAY 7: |
Traverse the endless
central Namib gravel plains en-route to the Atlantic coast. Stop for a
picnic lunch in the middle of nowhere. Arrive at your coastal destination by late afternoon, but in time to arrange any
private, optional activity you wish to partake of. For seafood
lovers -
Swakopmund is it! |
| DAY 8: |
You are at own leisure to browse the German-colonial architecture and shops,
back in civilization. To view the private activities & their
respective prices, click HERE.
A visit to the largest mineral crystal cluster ever unearthed to date, plus a
myriad other treasures
of the earth, is well worth a visit. A cinema and small casino are also
available. |
| DAY 9: |
After a leisurely
breakfast, return to the desert to experience the utter desolation of
the Moon Landscape, and stand in awe & respect next to the oldest living plant
specimens on earth - the amazing Welwitschia mirabilis. Via an ancient desert Oasis, return to
Windhoek, with one stop
along the way for lunch. Arrive at a Game Lodge en-route to the airport in time
for a nature drive to
have a final glimpse of our Namibian sunset. Relax, and enjoy this, your last night on
Honeymoon in Namibia,
Africa! |
| DAY 10: |
Subject to flight
departure time, you may have all morning to enjoy nature walks on the
premises, or simply relax on a pool chair and view wildlife at the waterhole.
Transfer to Namibia's International airport to arrive in time for your
departure flight. |
DAY-TO-DAY
ITINERARY (Option 2 - Water World)
| DAY
1: |
Meet your host at Namibia's International airport. Transfer to a
comfortable bed and
breakfast
on the outskirts of Windhoek. Relax from the long flight and acclimatize to
Namibia. |
| DAY 2: |
After breakfast, leave civilization behind
and continue towards your first overnight stop
en-route to a water wonderland. Along the way, stop to view the largest, intact
meteorite found on
earth to date - the Hoba Meteorite. Accommodation will be in comfortable, rustic
bungalows, with
unpolluted air and clear skies by day, and a glittering canopy of the true
Southern Skies
by night!
On a free Nature walk on these premises, you could very likely encounter from
the smallest antelope
in Namibia - the diminutive Damara Dik-dik - to the largest antelope in Africa -
the Eland. |
| DAY 3: |
Today you enter the Kavango region, difficult to believe that this is part
of Namibia, a
predominantly desert country. A sub-tropical, riverine forest, following the
curves and bends of the Kavango River. Reach
your little spot in paradise in time for a sundowner cruise on the Kavango River.
This idyllic setting will be your home for the next two nights. |
| DAY 4: |
Activities here
include swimming and a Game drive into the Mahangu Game Reserve. This is
the last bend in the Kavango River before it empties itself out
into the Okavango Delta (Swamps) of Botswana.
|
| DAY 5: |
A very short
drive today to another venue on the Kavango River where you may again view
wildlife from your vantage point - from the middle of the river. |
| DAY 6: |
A guided nature hike
and -drive will be available today to further explore your immediate
environment and the wildlife that call it "home". |
| DAY 7: |
As you have little
choice but to start your return journey, concede to your reluctance
and spend one more night in this water wonderland. Enjoy a final raft cruise
down the Kavango River at a neat and pleasant guest lodge on the western
boundary of Kavango. Even some traditional singing and dancing is
available. |
| DAY 8: |
Windhoek is still a
long way off and, understandably, too much like civilization! You
will shorten the long journey at a brand new mountain lodge where you will have
the opportunity
to join your first - and only - night drive to seek out the nocturnal animals of Namibia. |
| DAY 9: |
After a leisurely
breakfast, you have to return to Windhoek, with one stop
along the way for lunch. Arrive at a Game Lodge en-route to the airport in time for a
nature drive to have a final glimpse of our Namibian sunset. Relax, and enjoy this, your last night on Honeymoon in Namibia,
Africa! |
| DAY 10: |
Subject to flight
departure time, you may have all morning to enjoy nature walks on the
premises, or simply relax on a pool chair and view wildlife at the waterhole.
Transfer to Namibia's International airport to arrive in time for your
departure flight. |
