GENERAL INFORMATION This African Honeymoon safari will depart from Windhoek and will end again in Windhoek, 10 days later. Due to the luxury train journey included, the safari itinerary is dependant on your flight schedules. Thus, it is important that flight tickets & -reservations are made before an itinerary can be built around such a schedule. |
After meeting your host at Namibia's International airport, transfer to Windhoek for a quick
tour
of its sights & sounds. Settle into your room at one of Namibia's
few 4-star hotels. After a
hearty meal & a good night's rest to recuperate from your flight and
acclimatize to Namibia, you
will depart from Windhoek in a leisurely manner
- aboard the luxury train,
The Desert Express.
This is an overnight journey with dinner and breakfast served on the train.
During the entire Honeymoon you will be accommodated in some of the very best
establishments
and visit
a combination of venues both in civilization and out in the wilderness.

Here you may also browse German-colonial architecture & shops; experience the

on earth - the Welwitschia mirabilis. Towards the end of
your Honeymoon,
enjoy a respite from
travelling, spend two nights at one of the largest private Nature Reserves in
Africa. Bordering the
vast & famous Namib-Naukluft Nature Reserve, you will view the beauty of the
true Namib desert
- not simply a place, but a unique experience!
While in Swakopmund,
there is an optional activity for the couple who wishes to expand their visit
in Namibia, without adding extra days. A day pleasure flight from Swakopmund via
the Brandberg -
highest mountain peak in Namibia - and on to Opuwo in Kaokoland. Here you will
have the honour
of being invited into a village of the ochre-coloured nomads, the Ova-Himba.
After lunch and re-
fueling, return to Swakopmund on a low altitude flight along the well-known
Skeleton Coast. (This
pleasure flight can be booked on your behalf, in advance, at a maximum of
N$15160 per couple.
If two to three other passengers have also booked on the same day, the flight
ticket will be less).
Alternatively,
while at Sossusvlei, you might wish to enjoy an early morning hot-air balloon
flight
over the mountains and sand dunes of the Namib desert. This flight can also be
booked on your
behalf in advance at a fixed rate of N$7000 per couple.
End your African
Honeymoon with the last night in a romantic, early 19th century,
German castle.
Dine with the lights of Windhoek at your feet, while viewing the setting sun
being invited into the
folds of the distant Khomas Hochland on the horizon.
